I was thinking that, if the Pope was really God's main man on Earth. Does that mean that without a Pope we are currently without a link to God? Wierd question coming from someone who has so little faith in the power of religion. My greatest admiration of religion is not what it has done or what it has helped accomplish but the origins of it. With out the human spirit law and religion would not have prospered. So in fact it was not religion that has carried us on, it is the human spirit that has carried religion.
